Schools for Class 6th to 8th to reopen from February 8

News

The Rajasthan government has decided to open a school for the students of Class 6, Class 7 and Class 8. The classes for these students will be held from Feb 8 following the covid protocols. First and second-year college classes will also start from February 8.

As the number of COVID-19 cases has reduced in the state, the decision of reopening schools, colleges, cinema halls, multiplexes, theatres and swimming pools have been taken. The decision to lift the restrictions was taken in a meeting headed by CM Ashok Gehlot on Sunday.

According to a government official, “the schools will need to follow COVID-19 guidelines and other health protocols. It is strictly advised to use masks, follow social distancing in classes and proper hand sanitization. We will keep reviewing the COVID-19 situation. Depending on the situation we may either remove or impose certain restrictions again.”

The government has announced the relaxations. The schools for students of classes from 6 to 12 and Colleges for first-year and second-year students to be allowed to reopen with 50% attendance from February 8. Swimming pools and clubs will be allowed to function. Up to 200 people are allowed in social, religious gatherings and other types of functions.

The Rajasthan government had already allowed government and private schools to reopen last month for classes 9th to 12th. Only 50% of attendance will be allowed for all the classes from 6 to 12. The same restrictions have been imposed on the attendance of the first year and second-year college students.

However, the permission of parents is mandatory for allowing any student to attend school. If any parent is not interested in sending their child, no pressure should be put on them by the school.
