Due to no relief in corona cases even after lockdown, the state government has planned to extend the curfew even after May 3. New guidelines will be disclosed on May 1-2.

Even after curfew in Rajasthan, there has been a continuous rise in corona cases. The cases have been doubled in 12 days. Reflecting upon this acceleration, the Rajasthan government is now considering extending the corona curfew and restrictions like lockdown by 15 days. In such a situation, restrictions are expected to increase by May 18. 

In the regular corona review meetings of Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, officers in the core group have insisted on the strict curbing of curfew restrictions. The central government has also suggested a lockdown in areas with more cases. 

Rajasthan has a mini lockdown till 3 May. The Chief Minister decided to impose a weekend curfew on 15 April in the entire state, which was further increased from April 19 to May 3. The restrictions were extended by amending the guideline in between.

According to the experts, there is no other way than to increase the curfew. Discussions have started in the government on furthering the curfew. The way Corona cases are coming, people should also be in discipline and adopt the mask like the way we wear clothes the whole time.

New guideline to be released on 1 or 2 May

In the review meeting held at night, the principal secretary of the home department, Abhay Kumar, emphasized strict adherence to the curfew. Experts of the core group have suggested continuing strict restrictions till the outbreak is brought under control. On May 1 or 2, the Home Department will issue a new guideline.

As per the reports, the first-weekend curfew had 60 thousand active cases on day 17, now it has crossed 1.63 lakh in 12 days.
