Rajasthan Board 10th-12th examinations postponed

Rajasthan board postponed the upcoming board examinations of class X and XII and cancelled the VIII boards. The students of 8th, 9th and 11th will directly be promoted to the next classes.

Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot approved the proposal of the Education Department to postpone the board examinations. This decision will have an impact on more than 21 lac students. 

According to the State Education Minister, “The move to postpone the board exams is taken considering the recent Covid situation. However, it is essential to conduct examinations because this will decide the college admissions of the students. The examinations will be taken once the situation comes under control.”

A decision will be taken later on when these exams will be conducted. The board exams were to start from May 6,

and the secondary and higher secondary examinations in Rajasthan were to begin from May 6. At the same time, the 8th board pattern exam is also starting from May 5. These exams have also been cancelled.

The government may also decide to close all schools soon. In a video conference with Chief Minister, Education Minister Govind Singh Dotasara said that schools should also be closed due to the rising outbreak of Corona. If the situation is normal then they will be reopened again. The schools up to 9th schools are already closed.

The decision of postponing the examinations was taken following the suggestion of experts. The risk of corona outbreak is high if the examinations are conducted in the current situation. Experts also suggested closing the school and postponing the examinations. Only after the suggestions of experts, the Education Department sent a proposal to the Chief Minister to postpone the board examinations, which has been accepted by the Chief Minister.
