Rain-hail alert in Rajasthan, winter rain expected on Jan 23-24

According to the weather forecast, hail may fall with rain next week; the Temperature is minus for the 5th consecutive day in the state.

There is an alert of rain and hailstorm in Rajasthan amidst bone-chilling cold and cold waves. The Central Meteorological Department has predicted winter rain on January 23 and 24 in many parts of North and Central India including Rajasthan.

On Wednesday, mercury was recorded below the freezing point at Fatehpur, Churu, Jobner, and Mount Abu. This is the 5th consecutive day when the temperature remained below zero.

With this, the warning of winter rain has also been issued in many parts of the state, there is a possibility of hailstorm as well. The effect of this system will remain till January 25. From January 26, the weather will start clearing up in North India.

According to weather experts, a strong Western Disturbance (weather system) will be active in North India on 23-24 January. Due to this, there will be good snowfall with rain in Jammu-Kashmir, Himachal, Ladakh, Uttarakhand. The effect of this weather system will also be seen in the plain states of Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh.

In such a situation, there is both good and bad news for the farmers. While rabi crops will be benefited by the rains, there is also a danger of crop damage due to hail. It is a matter of relief for the common people that after this the effect of severe cold will start reducing.
