The Rajasthan government has planned to launch a new project which will ease the application of marriage, birth and death certificates. Now one can apply for the certificate online through e-Mitra centres. The certificates will also be home delivered by JMC.
The state government has notified the administration of both municipal corporations in Jaipur to make all preparations in this regard. Now people will not have to run from door to door to get marriage, birth and death certificates from Jaipur Municipal Corporation offices.
According to a JMC officer, “This project would help in getting marriage, death and birth certificates easily because presently, people have to visit the municipal corporation offices several times for this. Online application process will make things easier. A strict action would be taken against the e-Mitra centre if it is seen irregular in providing services or if any complaint is received against them. The municipal corporation will be approved to cancel the license of the e-Mitra centre.”
To apply for these certificates, people will first have to reach their nearest e-Mitra centre. The centre will process the applications and forward them to the concerned municipal corporation. The certificate will be prepared by the registrar’s office at JMC and delivered to the applicant’s address.
The charge for getting a marriage, birth and death certificate will be a maximum of Rs. 30. The e-Mitra centre would need to post the charges outside the centre so that people don’t pay more than the prescribed amount.
Initially, the project will be launched in Jaipur and Jodhpur. If it receives a good response, it will be extended to other municipal corporations and municipalities across the state.
