No Shutdown, No Power Cut for 5 days of Diwali

A big relief from power cut during Diwali, no electricity will be cut down during 5 days of Diwali festival.

On the occasion of Diwali, all the markets of Jaipur as well as across the state have been decorated with lights. Given this, the electricity department is facing a challenge to provide round the clock supply of electricity during the festival of Diwali. 

The Chief Minister has given instructions to provide electricity without interruption on the 5 day festival of Deepotsav i.e from 2nd November to 6th November for Dhanteras, Roop Chaudas, Diwali, Govardhan Puja and Bhai Dooj with no power cut and no shutdown. 

CM has given special instructions to the Energy Department for Diwali

Following the instructions of Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, Minister of Energy Department Dr. BD Kalla has given clear instructions to the electricity department and distribution corporations, discoms that special care should be taken that there should be no cut anywhere due to lack of power.

Apart from this, 24 hours special teams on Diwali should be kept on the alert mode of the three power companies Jaipur Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited, Jodhpur Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited and Ajmer Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited.

Extra electricity should be purchased from the exchange as per the requirement

After the instructions of the CM, the Energy Minister has reviewed the current situation of electricity and has given instructions that according to the demand, as much power as is required should be purchased from the exchange. The demand and availability of electricity should be assessed daily. Also, the supply systems should be maintained properly.

Deployed special teams to monitor electricity supply 

All three power companies have deployed teams of control rooms, call centers, and technical staff. Round the clock zonal and circle control rooms will be running. A special engineer team will be deployed at different locations as per the requirement. An adequate number of employees in fault removal teams, tools and plants, power lines and fault rectification materials, vehicles and teams will be deployed to keep alert in the field. 

Along with this, the metering and protection wing and vigilance wing were also deployed. Monitoring will ensure quick resolution of registered electricity-related complaints and real-time status of electricity demand and supply.
