School reopening extended

School reopening extended till 30 November

News Rajasthan

With the coronavirus eruption after Diwali, there is still a lot of speculation regarding the reopening of schools, colleges, educational institutions, and coaching institutes. Now the state government has issued a shutdown order till 30 November.

The coronavirus has started spreading rapidly once again in Jaipur as well as the entire state. Since last week, more than 2100 corona patients have been confirmed positive. Meanwhile, the Rajasthan government has taken a big decision amidst the increasing cases.

The government has now issued orders to close all schools, colleges, educational institutions and coaching institutes in the state till November 30. At first, the orders stated that the educational institutions will be closed till November 16. But now the state government has extended it further and has decided to close the educational institutions till 30 November. In such a situation, there are assumptions that even now, there is a condition of confusion in the opening of schools and colleges.

Earlier, as per the discussions about reopening the school, the state government had expressed the possibility of opening the school by October 15. But then the State Home Department issued an order on 1 November, ordering the closure of educational institutions till 16 November. It has now been extended to 30 November.

Although the exercise to open schools in all states is in rage, many states are still reluctant to open schools. Alongside, many parents are also not in favour of reopening the schools. At the other end, children troubled by online education want to go to school. However, it has become obvious that under the school reopening process which is undertaken in several stages, only students from 9th to 12th will be able to come to school to get guidance from teachers. Whereas, students from other classes will still be studying online.

The necessary guidelines will continue as before

Under unlock 6.0, the state government has circulated the guidelines which will remain in force like previously. Under this, the maximum limit of guests in the marriage ceremony will be 100. A limit of 20 persons has also been fixed at the funeral. Same as before, the collector’s permission is mandatory for social and political programs, which may include up to 250 people following the Corona Guidelines. Despite all these guidelines, the decision of reopening the schools is still under confusion.
