Significantly, all schools and colleges were closed in March due to the coronavirus outbreak. With this, all the proposed examinations were also postponed. After this, due to the increased risk of the corona, the state government had decided to promote the first and second-year students. But on August 29, the supreme court made an announcement regarding the exams of the final year that the final year students cannot be promoted without examinations and their exams will be conducted soon. This led the institutions to start preparing for the exam.

In compliance with the order of the supreme court and the instructions issued by the UGC, the state government had issued orders for conducting the last year pending examinations of the universities in September. Instructions in this regard were issued on behalf of the government secretary of higher education, Suchi Sharma.

The instructions also mentioned that if the examinations are not possible to be accomplished by September 30, then the university can apply to the UGC through the state government to extend the exam period as decided by the supreme court.

The orders also state that during the examination, it should be ensured to maintain the Covid-19 guideline issued by the central and state government. For this, the number of examination centres should be increased. Along with protective measures, the convenience of the candidates will also have to be taken care of so that the effect of corona infection can be prevented in the candidates coming for the examination.
