Omicron variant found in Jaipur, 9 cases found, 4 have recently travelled down from South Africa, the other 5 came in touch with them

The most dangerous variant of Corona ‘Omicron’ has knocked on the doors of Rajasthan. 9 cases of Omicron were found in Rajasthan. Of them, 4 returned from South Africa and 5 cases who came in contact report positive.

The genome sequencing report of a total of 9 people from Adarsh Nagar tested positive on Sunday. The family (husband, wife and their two children) had travelled from South Africa to Jaipur via Dubai-Mumbai on November 25. The whole family is admitted to Rajasthan University of Health Sciences (RUHS).

According to SMS Medical College Principal Dr. Sudhir Bhandari, After the report came, there was a stir in the administration. The people who came in contact with them have been kept under observation. Rajasthan is the fifth state in the country where Omicron has been found infected. With this, Jaipur has become the city where Omicron has the maximum number of patients.

Rajasthan became the fifth state in India

After Karnataka, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Delhi, Rajasthan became the fifth state in terms of patients with the Omicron variant. Earlier, the first case was reported in Bangalore, Karnataka. After this, cases of Omicron have been reported in Jamnagar in Gujarat, Mumbai in Maharashtra and Delhi.

Jaipur CMHO Dr. Narottam Sharma said that the family corona test report came negative when they came from South Africa on November 25. They reached Mumbai from South Africa via Dubai. The report of this family came negative in Dubai and Mumbai as well. After this, they reached Jaipur and attended a wedding ceremony at City Palace in Jaipur on 28 November.

No infection in CT scan report

On 3rd December, the family members admitted to RUHS had undergone an HR city scan. The HR city report of all these families is normal. No infection has been found in their lungs. They do not have any kind of cough, fever, cold, soreness or other symptoms from the day they are admitted, on or before that day.
