Monsoon has finally been kind to the state. Late night on Tuesday the capital received 4 inches of rainfall within a few hours. However, due to rains, the temperature has dropped and people have got relief from the heat.

In many parts of the capital Jaipur, the rain started late in the evening and continued till late at night. The city recorded 22.8 mm rainfall and showers continued till late night. The monsoon is expected to be more active for the next week. The department has issued a red and orange alert. Many districts including the capital have been warned of heavy rains from August 13 to 16.

According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of heavy rains in the districts of Bharatpur, Jaipur, Ajmer, Kota and Udaipur divisions due to a cyclonic circulation system in eastern Rajasthan.

It rained heavily throughout the day. The big claims and promises that the administration used to make before every monsoon were exposed after the waterlogging on Tuesday evening. The few hours of rain caused rainwater to accumulate on all the streets of the city.

Due to heavy rains and water flooded on the streets, the drivers had to face a lot of problems. The rain was so fast that the drivers had to light the lights even in the daylight.

Due to the continuous rain for many hours, waterlogging took place, but thankfully there was no loss of life. However, household items of the people deteriorated to a great extent. The SDRF team reached the spot at night after complaints of waterlogging and people getting trapped in the low-lying houses in slums of Jawahar Nagar area.

Deputy Controller Manish Faujdar and other members of the SDRF team took many people out of the water with the help of rescue equipment and moved them to safer places.
