First biotechnology park and incubation center of the state to set up in Jaipur

The first Biotechnology Park and Biotechnology Incubation Center will soon be coming up in Jaipur Rajasthan. For this, the Government of state, Department of Biotechnology, Department of Science and Technology, Rajasthan will sign a Memorandum of Understanding between them.

According to the information given by Dr. Renu Swaroop, Secretary, Biotechnology, Government of India, “With the setup of the park and incubation center the state will get opportunities to conduct research in the field of biotechnology and youth employment.”

The biotechnology park and incubation center will be funded and completed in collaboration with the Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC).

While addressing the State Biotech Cohort Meeting, she said, “The Centre will provide full support and assistance to promote biotechnology in Rajasthan. Every field demands biotechnology due to its increased usage. Field including health, agriculture and agriculture production, industry, edible food are a few of them. The industrial development and research will gain momentum due to the promotion and encouragement of biotechnology.”

The meeting was attended by vice-chancellors, directors, and deans of all universities conducting biotechnology courses, representatives from biotechnology research institutes and start-ups related to it.

The Rajasthan Department of Science and Technology Secretary Mugdha Sinha said that bioinformatics, biomedical engineering, and nanotechnology will be encouraged in the state.

Recently a campaign named Nirogi Rajasthan was launched by the Rajasthan government. To provide it the much-needed strength all possible assistance through bioinformatics will be given. The cooperation of the government of India will improve the state’s Biotechnology ecosystem and start-ups, she said.
