5 IPL matches to be held at SMS Stadium in Jaipur

News

In the schedule released by IPL-2020, the capital of Rajasthan, Jaipur will be hosting 5 matches. These five matches will be held at Sawai Mansingh (SMS) Stadium in Jaipur.

Of the total 7 matches of Rajasthan Royals the first two matches are doubtful if they will be played in Guwahati or Jaipur. This would be the High Court decision. Most probably these two matches are said to be shifted to Guwahati. A hearing is to be held in the Rajasthan High Court on February 20.

According to the information, the first match of Rajasthan Royals will be against Delhi Daredevils on 5 April and against Kolkata Knight Riders on 9 April. Whether these matches will be held in Jaipur or in Guwahati, it is not confirmed yet.

In the matches to be played in Jaipur, Rajasthan Royals will play against Sunrisers Hyderabad on April 21. At the same time, the match against Royal Challengers Bangalore will be on April 25. Apart from this, there will be a match against Kings XI Punjab on April 29. While matches against Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians on May 4 and on May 11 respectively. All matches in Jaipur will be held at 8 pm.

On the rumor of 2 matches of IPL hosted out from Rajasthan, a petition was filed on January 29th.  The former Ranji player Rahul Kant and others had filed a PIL in the High Court. In the petition, the court has been requested that all 7 matches of Rajasthan Royals be held in Jaipur as earlier. Because if these matches are hosted out of Jaipur, it will result in loss of revenue to the state, as well as the people who get indirect employment from the match will also suffer a loss.

According to the petition, As per the IPL MoU, 7 matches of any team will be hosted on its home ground and other 7 matches elsewhere. But now that MoU is not being cradled. The matter is scheduled for hearing on 20 February. A total of 56 matches will be played between all the teams in the league round of IPL and the final match of this phase will be held on May 17.

Cricket lovers are eagerly waiting for IPL matches. Cricket fans were hopeful that Rajasthan would get a chance to host more matches this time. But now they will get to enjoy only five matches. The Rajasthan Cricket Association was also trying to get IPL matches in Jodhpur this time. But all efforts went in vain and success could not be achieved.
