A 30-year-old man allegedly committed suicide by jumping off the third floor of the Triton Mall in Jhotwara area of Jaipur on Friday night.
The incident was caught on CCTV. The incident took place around 11.30 pm on Friday. The man first held the railing. He then removed his slippers and then suddenly jumped off the third floor. He sustained serious head injuries and died on the spot.
The mall authorities informed the police at Jhotwara. A police team from Jhotwara police station rushed to the spot after getting the information.
‘No suicide note was found from the spot. The man was wearing a T-shirt and jeans. The body of the man has been put in the mortuary of a hospital. The post-mortem examination will be conducted soon’, said police officials.
The man was identified on Saturday evening as Abhimanyu Singh, a resident of Vidhyadhar Nagar area. He worked at a private company in Jaipur.
According to the investigation, officials, ‘the body was handed over to the family after post-mortem. When asked his family, they were devastated and couldn’t reply. The reason for the suicide is yet to be ascertained. We are trying to track down his friends. Further investigation is going on.’
