Lok Sabha elections 2019: Voting in 5th Phase ends, Rajasthan records 60.10% voting

Polling in 12 constituencies in the fifth phase of the Lok Sabha elections in Rajasthan ended on Monday at 6 pm.

According to chief electoral officer Anand Kumar, The voting was recorded at 60.10 percent this year. The last year the voting percentage was 61.80 in the state. This year the voting percentage was slightly less than that in the last general elections in 2014.

The voting went off peacefully in all the 12 constituencies of the state. There were 23,783 polling booths. A total of 134 candidates were in the field including 12 of the Congress and 11 of the BJP.
At many polling booths in Rajasthan, there was a report of EVM malfunctioning. Senior election department officials said that the EVMs were replaced within half an hour at these places.

The second phase voting took place in Jaipur, Sriganganagar, Bikaner, Churu, Jhunjhunu, Sikar, Jaipur rural, Jaipur, Alwar, Bharatpur, Karauli –Dholpur, Dausa and Nagaur.
