Much awaited festival “Lok Rang” returns after a three-year break in Jaipur

Jaipur proudly called as a land of culture and traditions is back with the most awaited 10-day cultural eventLok Rang‘. It made a huge comeback after a gap of three years. This national-level festival is organised by the Jawahar Kala Kendra in Jaipur and will be on till October 20.

This 10-day event ‘Lok Rang‘ was inaugurated on Saturday by Rajiv Arora, chairman of Jaipur Citizen Forum and Govind Singh Dotasara, Minister of State, Primary and Secondary Education in charge, Tourism & Devasthan, Government of Rajasthan.

Top Attractions Of The Event

According to the reports, Nearly 700 countries-folk artists participated in this cultural feast presenting colorful cultural performances. The Feast gathered Jaipurites as well as tourists in large numbers. A huge crowd can be seen here showing enthusiasm towards the rich tribal and folk traditions of India.

The major features of this magnificent festival are classical dances, tribal and folk dances, presentation and exhibition of art and craft, performing art form, and cultural presentations.

In addition to cultural events, exhibitions and workshops are also organized here. The audience enjoyed various other festivals and cultural performances, including “Hojagiri‘, ‘Chakri‘, ‘Ghoomar‘, ‘The puppet dance‘, ‘Natua‘, and ‘Kathak‘ performances by a group of artists.

On the very first day of this event, it was filled with different folk dances. It includes Natua dance of West Bengal, Rathwa of Gujarat, Peacock dance of Uttar Pradesh, Deru of Shekhawati, Sirmouri Nati dance of Himachal Pradesh and Rauf of Jammu and Kashmir. The folk dance of Rajasthan, Terah Taal and Bhavai were also showcased colorfully.


An exhibition titled ‘Lok-Rang‘ organized in collaboration with Rajasthan Lalit Kala Akademi, Jaipur is also attracting the attention of the audience. People witnessed the contemporary visual art of Jaipur and Rajasthan in this exhibition. The paintings of Radha-Krishna playing Holi and Lord Krishna playing the flute for Radha by Nathu Lal along with the paintings of Havelis of Shekhawati by Gopal Swami Khetanchi and Amer Fort by Bhim Singh amazed everyone. Distinct art installations and sculptures by senior and award-winning artists like Vidya Sagar Upadhyay, Arjun Prajapati are catching everyone’s eye.
