To overcome the havoc created from the epidemic in Rajasthan, the state government has imposed a three-tier public discipline lockdown extending it for fifteen days up to June 8.
In the meeting of the state council of ministers chaired by chief minister Ashok Gehlot on Saturday, the health department released guidelines for three-tier public discipline lockdown in the state from May 24 to June 8.
The council of ministers suggested continuing lockdown with strict measures due to some reduction in the number of positive cases and due to high pressure on hospitals because of increased infection and mortality.
A three-tier public discipline lockdown has been imposed by the state government wanting people to follow Covid-19-appropriate behaviours at three levels, family, village, and state.
The first level is realising family responsibility. People will have to avoid the entry of outsiders into the house. If necessary, meetings with outsiders should be held in an open space for the safety of elders and children.
The second level includes checking on activities that may spread infection at the village level. People have to confirm that not more than five people gather at any place.
While at the third level, there is a complete ban on movement in inter-district and inter-village.
According to Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, a primary reason for the spread of the infection is the gathering at wedding ceremonies. To curb this, marriage functions will remain banned till June 30. Also, the penalty amount has been increased from 500 rupees to 1 thousand rupees for not wearing a face mask or face cover in a public place.
Further relaxation in business activities and Unlocking will be done from June 1 in some districts where the prevalence of infection has improved.
