JMC took action against coaching centers in Jaipur after surat tragedy

News

Following the fire tragedy in Surat of Gujarat, the Jaipur Municipal Corporation (JMC) has started inspecting coaching centers in the city.

The JMC teams conducted an inspection on Monday. Notices were served to 24 coaching centers. However, the action was just a formality as the instructions were only verbal. No formal communication in this regard was made.

Most of the coaching centers don’t have any fire fighting equipment installed or if they had, the fire safety arrangements were not upgraded. Also, many of these coaching centers didn’t have permission for running commercial activities. Most of them had fire no-objection certificates (NOC).

According to a senior JMC officer, “Our teams inspected nine and found some errors. We issued instructions to fix them. If the fire safety norms are not followed further action will be taken. Our inspection will continue on Tuesday.”

The JMC teams inspected nine coaching centers including Paramount Coaching Centre, Vision Academy, KSC Institute of IAS, Chanakya IAS Academy, CLAT Coaching Classes, Pragya Coaching Classes, Mothers Education Hub, Gantavya Career Institute, QIT Academy Coaching Centre.

A committee headed by the ADM has been constituted by the district administration.
