Jaipur traffic arrangement in Diwali to ease the commute

Special arrangements have been made for traffic in Jaipur to get rid of the jam on Diwali with different gates for entry and exit.

In a bid to control traffic during the five-day festival Deepawali, the Jaipur Traffic Police has made special arrangements for the commute. During these five days, there is a noticeable visit of domestic and foreign tourists in the city to see the decoration and lights. Given this, the Jaipur Traffic Police has made sure that there is no traffic jam.

According to the Traffic DCP Prahlad Krishnaian, “the Diwali festival will be celebrated from 23 to 25 October. During this, special arrangements have been made for the pedestrians and vehicles coming to see the shopping, decorations and lights in the markets.”

The traffic police ensured the roads remain free from jams by restricting the entry of heavy vehicles into the Walled City.

Apart from this, parking of all types of vehicles will not be allowed at the markets and main roads of the walled city. For the people living in the walled city area, there are instructions for parking their vehicles at JDA Parking at Ram Niwas Bagh and Chowgan Stadium, Ramlila Maidan, Atish Market and other parking places only. If still someone’s vehicle is found parked on the road, then it will be removed from there and jammed in the enclosure.

People will be able to comfortably see the lights installed in the city. To avoid traffic collision changes have been made in the ways of entering and exiting the city. If one wants to enter the city then he can enter through Ajmeri Gate, Sanganeri Gate and Ghatgate. After seeing the light, people will be able to leave with their vehicles or on foot from New Gate, Chandpole Gate, Ghat Gate. Along with this, special traffic arrangements have also been made in Gaurav Tower, Rajapark, Vaishali Nagar, Mansarovar, Vidyadhar Nagar area.

Traffic arrangements from 23 -25 October will be as follows:

  1. Entry of heavy vehicles will be closed in Walled city from 23
    to 25 October.
  2. Parking of all types of vehicles will be prohibited on the market and main roads.
  3. Residents of walled city will be able to park their vehicles at other places including JDA Parking at Ram Niwas Bagh, Chowgan Stadium, Ramlila Maidan, Aatish Market Arrangement for those who see the lights in the four walls.
  4. Vehicle Entry Gates will be Ajmeri Gate, Sanganer Gate, Ghat Gate while the Exit Gate New Gate, Chandpole Gate, From Ghat Gate.

Traffic assistance booths will be set up at prominent places for the convenience of the common citizens. Informative flex boards will be installed on the main roads and the route map will be given to the traffic arrangements on the Twitter handle of the traffic police.
