Jaipur Marathon now to be held on March 13 as COVID cases rise

Jaipur Marathon which was scheduled to be held on February 6 has now been postponed to March 13 due to increasing covid cases.

This year it is the 13th edition of the Jaipur Marathon which sees runners from across the world was planned to be carried on February 6, has now been delayed to March 13th. The decision has been taken due to a surge in COVID cases. 

The organisers have decided to postpone the date of the event. This annual event is organized by the Sanskriti Yuva Sansthan every year on the first Sunday of February. In view of the increasing COVID situations and cases, the event has been postponed to 13th of March. 

When talked to the president of Sanskriti Yuva Sanstha, Pandit Suresh Mishra, he said, “The Jaipur Marathon, which is the biggest festival of running, is celebrated by the world with Jaipur. From last twelve years, runners from around the world participate in it. As the virus continues to spread, we have decided to postpone it. This time it will be an on-ground event as per the Covid protocols, as well as a virtual event.”

According to Mukesh Mishra, CEO, Jaipur Marathon, “This year the event will witness many pre-events, including a campaign to promote and spread the awareness for COVID vaccination, and lifestyle diseases.

Jaipur Marathon is an international marathon held annually in Jaipur. The event happens each year on a Sunday in February and is one of the biggest marathons in Asia. Started in 2010, it is also the biggest mass participation sporting event incorporating people from the nation as well as the world.
