Jaipur International Film Festival to start from January 7

The biggest international film festival, JIFF, will start on January 7 in Jaipur. Film submissions from Japan, China and South Korea.

World’s biggest Competitive Film Festival, JIFF – Jaipur International Film Festival is all set to spread its glamour. The first list of the 14th edition of JIFF has been released. The festival will be organized from January 7 to January 11 in Jaipur.

The first list of nominated films for the 14th Jaipur International Film Festival – JIFF 2022, has been released. Around 1500 film applications were received from 82 countries from all over the world. This is the first time since its inception that films in a huge number from China, Japan and South Korea are submitted and nominated as well.

After receiving the applications for JIFF 2022, the JIF Organizing Committee on Sunday released the first list of films nominated for JIFF in 10 categories. In this list, 182 films from 52 countries have got a place and 28 judges from 15 countries have selected these films. By far, this is the biggest ever selection of JIFF in the first list.

GIF will be organized from January 7 to 11

JIF Founder Director Hanu Rose said that the film festival will be organized in both offline and online mode from January 7 to 11, 2022. For the first time in JIFF, a large number of films have been submitted and nominated from China, Japan and South Korea. The films selected in 10 categories for the same competition include 24 Feature Fiction Films, 22 Documentary Feature Films, 88 Short Fiction Films, 18 Short Documentary Films, 11 Short Animation Films, 4 Mobile Films, 5 Web Series, 1 Ad Film, and 9 Songs. These also include 10 student films.

Film submissions from Japan, China and South Korea

There is a huge list of Feature Films selected for the Jaipur International Film Festival from around the world. To name a few of all the films included from China are Aksa, Love Laboratory, Sorry I Forgive You, Wiggler etc. While the other films included are Atlas from Switzerland, Make Believers from Japan, The Last Bath from Portugal, Verona from Brazil, Do Not Hesitate From Netherlands, The Next Truth from Germany, The Final Stand from Russia, Handle from Kyrgyzstan. The films included from India are Bridge, Natyam, Gilyu Panjaradolila, Nani, Baba Baby O, Cinnamon and Lullaby etc.

The Jaipur International Film Festival is held every year in Jaipur. It started in 2009 and within a few years of existence, JIFF has emerged to be a  very popular festival across the globe and the biggest competitive film festival receiving films from 100 countries. In the festival, films of well-known and prestigious Award-winning filmmakers are selected under various categories. 

The Second List of the selected films would be disclosed on 5th December 2021.
