Jaipur in Rajasthan is the cleanest railway station in India. Jodhpur slipped to cleanest railway station and Durgapura came third in the countdown of the cleanest railway station.

These three railway stations of Rajasthan have left behind 720 stations in the country. Apart from this, six railway stations of Rajasthan alone managed to the top-10 in the cleanest railway station in India survey rankings.

Railway Minister Piyush Goyal revealed the results on Wednesday on the occasion of the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.

Indian Railways is continuously taking steps to keep cleanliness at the stations to follow the steps of Prime Minister Narendra Modi‘s “Swachh Bharat Abhiyan“. To make the country clean and tidy, A survey has been conducted by a third party regarding the cleanliness of railway stations.

The Quality Council of India has conducted a survey related to Station Cleanliness. The Survey Report called ‘Station Cleanliness Survey Report‘ has included 720 railway stations on the list. The ranking of these 720 stations is based on different standards of cleanliness. Jaipur scored a total of 931.75 in all categories of cleanliness. After that Jodhpur scored 927.19, while Durgapura scored 922.50.

The survey found the North-West Railway zone to be the cleanest. In the Year 2018 the North-West Railway was the cleanest in among all zones.

The Railways is conducting a third-party audit and cleanliness survey of 407 big stations every year since 2016. This time, a total of 720 stations have been included in the survey, including suburb stations. For the first time, a clean suburb category is also been created. In which Andheri railway station of Mumbai stood first. Virar got second place and Naigaon got the third position. Out of the 10 clean railway stations in the country, no station of the capital, Delhi has been able to make in the top 10 places.
