International travellers with negative COVID exempted from institutional quarantine

The state government has issued new guidelines for non-resident travellers coming to Jaipur. International travellers will be exempted from institutional quarantine on submitting a negative COVID test report on their arrival at Jaipur airport.

As per the guidelines issued, “This test should have been conducted within 96 hrs before undertaking the journey. While applying for a return, the test report should be uploaded on the portal for consideration.”

Earlier every flyer was mandatory to go for institutional quarantine, but now the travellers with negative test reports are allowed to go home. However, they have to keep themselves home quarantined for 7 days.

The guidelines of the Union Health Ministry also state that a self-declaration needs to be submitted 72 hours before the scheduled travel to verify the authenticity of the test report.

While those coming to Jaipur with emergency reasons will not be affected through these guidelines. But they have to undergo mandatory quarantine for 14 days under the surveillance of health authorities.

Before boarding a flight downloading the Arogya Setu app on their mobile devices is mandatory. Only asymptomatic travellers will be allowed to board after the thermal screening.

After the thermal screening, the self-declaration form filled online will need to be shown to the airport health staff. They will be allowed home quarantine for 14 days. The rest who haven’t availed the exemption will be taken to suitable institutional quarantine facilities, arranged by the state government.

These travellers will have to undergo institutional quarantine for a minimum period of 7 days. They shall also be tested as per the ICMR protocol.

If they are assessed as asymptomatic or pre-symptomatic cases, they will be allowed home isolation or isolated in the COVID Care Centre as appropriate. However, the travellers found to be symptomatic during screening will be immediately isolated and taken to a medical facility as per health protocols.

To be noted the detection of Covid-19 test should be RT-PCR or regular COVID 19 test. The antigen test won’t be considered appropriate to imply if a person is negative.

All these guidelines will come into effect from Monday.
