Illegally operated rooftop restaurants sealed in Jaipur by the Jaipur Municipal Corporation

The Jaipur municipal corporation administration took action on rooftop restaurants and restaurants running on multi-story buildings in the city. Seven rooftop restaurant complexes were sealed on Monday for not having fire NOCFive more such rooftop restaurants sealed in Jaipur on Wednesday.

In the direction of Corporation Commissioner Vijay Pal Singh, the Zone’s team sealed 7 restaurants, including KAFKA, Blackout Bar and restaurant, Lol Cafe, Retreat Lounge, Handi, Playboy, and Social Vibes. These were the restaurants from the C scheme and Tonk road in Jaipur.

Drunch bar and Midnight Vegas in SanganerJaipur Durbar on SL margTen 11 lounge and bar at Malviya nagar and a restaurant at Jaipur center were sealed by the authority.

KAFKA restaurant was recently in the news because of a cylinder blast in September. Kafka Restaurant was closed after the incident. It was on the fifth floor more than four fire tenders were used to control the flames.

According to the Jaipur Municipal Corporation officials, “None of the sealed restaurants had obtained fire NOC in the last two years. These restaurants don’t even carry a license and are operated illegally. They also don’t fulfill the other legal requirements to run a restaurant and bar. Almost all of them are running illegally and without proper documents.

As per the law, a building requires a fire NOC from JMC if it is more than 15 meters in height. A restaurant must have hosed pipes with an underground tanka smoke detectorwater sprinklersfire alarmsexit doors and exit staircase for fire safety.

To obtain a fire NOC, a building needs urban development tax receiptscopies of the approved maplease clearance and fire prevention outlets.

Over 65 rooftop restaurants are operating under JDA areas were also sent notices for not following fire safety measures. Not only the restaurantsthe coaching centers in the city are also being checked. With fire incidents increasing day by day all across the city, the Commissioner Vijay Pal Singh said that this action to seal illegal buildings will continue in the city.
