Holi, the festival of colors, will be celebrated on March 6 on Monday. The next day, on Tuesday, March 7, will be Dhulandi i.e. the festival of playing colors. More than a thousand cops will be deployed on Monday and Tuesday to ensure security during the festival of colors.
Holika Dahan will take place on Monday, whereas Dhulandi is on Tuesday. Instructions have been issued to all station house officers (SHO) to ensure vigilance and sensitivity on both these days.
They have been entrusted the responsibility to keep peace. Holika Dahan does not take place on disputed properties. Often miscreants try to create problems by organizing Holika Dahans at properties which are either contested or involved in title disputes. Therefore, police teams will go out prior to the Holika Dahan to ascertain these matters.
Cops to watch for drunken drivers and triple riders
Cops are instructed to keep in check drunken revelers and those ‘tripling’ on two- wheelers during Holi. The triple riders on two-wheelers will be strictly punished. A lot of foreign tourists and local families celebrate Holi in Jaipur with fervor. It is very important to ensure their safety and keep the festive periods free from untoward incidents. So the cops will keep an eye on drunken revelers and triple driving.
Fire fighting vehicles have also been deployed
Jaipur Municipal Corporation Greater and Heritage have been directed to deploy additional staff after Holi and Dhulandi to deploy fire fighting vehicles with equipment and staff from the point of view of cleanliness as well as security. Superintending Engineer, Jaipur Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited has been given the responsibility of uninterrupted power supply and Superintendent Engineer, PHED for additional supply of water on 7th March
Medical facilities to set up
At the same time, instructions have been given to Chief Medical and Health Officers to deploy ambulance vehicles with medical officers, nursing staff and essential medicines. In view of the possibility of sale of adulterated sweets on the festival of Holi, food inspectors have been given the responsibility of conducting surprise inspections of shops of sweets, milk, mawa, cheese in Jaipur district.
