Holidays in schools may extend till Jan 18 due to increasing cold

Winter holidays may be extended till January 18 witnessing the increase in cold, schools will open in Jaipur from 10 am.

After the continuous increasing cold in Rajasthan, the education department has come into active mode. On Sunday, the Director of the Education Department authorized the District Collector to declare holidays till January 18 in all government and private schools of the state.

Given this, now the education officers at the district level can declare holidays till January 18 with changes in the timings of the schools according to the weather.

Besides, following the order of the Education Department, the Jaipur District Collector has issued an order to open all government and private schools from class IX to XII from 10 am.

If the orders of the district administration are disobeyed by any school during this period, strict action will be taken against it. A helpline number 0141-2704293 has also been issued for complaining against the schools which are not following the government guidelines. Parents can complain about the arbitrariness of the school.

Jaipur District Education Officer Rajendra Kumar Hans said that the District Collector has changed the time in Jaipur till January 18 following the suggestion of the Education Department so that school children can get relief from the ever-increasing cold.

The bitter cold in Rajasthan gave chills to the entire state. Apart from Jobner in Jaipur, Fatehpur in Sikar, Mount Abu, Churu district recorded minus temperature today. The mercury has reached -7 degree Celsius in Mount Abu which is colder than Manali. People’s hands and feet became numb due to the cold. In such a situation, after increasing cold, the education department has again given relief to the school children.
