How to register for COVID-19 vaccination? Get to know the full information

Amid the rising cases of COVID the coronavirus vaccination program was started all over India. The process started for Healthline workers and people working at the frontline. Soon the process for people above 60 years was started in January. Recently, the vaccination program for those above 45 years and people who are suffering from more than one permanent disease, began on April 1. 

Getting vaccinated is essential to reduce the risk of getting exposed to this dangerous virus. People should get vaccinated so that the spread of the virus can be prevented. Many people are often confused about the process to get vaccinated and the registration process. This article entails everything you need to know about.

The vaccination is available at all the major government dispensaries, clinics and hospitals in Jaipur. The private hospitals are providing vaccines by paying Rs. 250 per dose. While the vaccination is free of cost at the government hospitals. 

Documents Required 

Identification documents like Aadhaar, PAN card, driving license, etc are required for registering yourself for vaccination. People should carry an identification card for both registering online or also when going for onsite vaccination. People will be asked to confirm their identity at the vaccination centre.

On-Site vaccination

One can also opt for the hassle-free on-site registration process. If you wish to get vaccinated going directly to the centre, you won’t need to pre-register online. One can walk in and get a vaccination after submitting identification documents at the centre.

However, the vaccination process would be a little faster if you have pre-registered. You can register and book an appointment through the dedicated Co-WIN portal or the Arogya Setu app. You will be recommended to a vaccination centre after the registration.

1. Arogya Setu App

For registering on Arogya Setu App, at first, you have to go to the Cowin tab, tap on the “Vaccination” tab and then select the “Register Now” option.

You have to then enter your mobile number. A one-time password (OTP) will be sent to the phone number, enter the OTP.

Following this, you have to choose the type of photo ID proof you wish to upload which will be shown at the time of vaccination

After this, you will need to fill in the other details such as submitting the proof if you are above 45. For this, you will have to upload the Aadhaar card number, age and gender and if the person was suffering from any comorbidity doctor’s certificate as proof of comorbidity.

Next, click on the schedule appointment option and the page will direct you to the step which needs you to choose the state, district.

Now, choose your nearest vaccination centre and the timing that suits you to confirm the appointment. On registering successfully, you will receive an SMS with the appointment details.

2. Co-WIN Portal

Go to the Co-WIN registration portal through www.cowin.gov.in to register yourself. Enter your mobile number and submit the OTP received on your phone via text to verify.

After this, the ‘Registration for Vaccination’ page will open. Enter your details, such as photo ID proof and age proof. Also, fill in the other details. You will be asked if you have any comorbidities. Answer it by clicking on ‘yes’ or ‘no’. If yes, upload the doctor’s certificate as comorbidity proof.

After you enter the details for registration, click the ‘Register’ button. On getting registered successfully, a confirmation message will be sent to your registered mobile number.

Once registered, you will be shown the page, where you can schedule your appointment. Tap on the “Schedule Appointment” button and set your appointment. The page will ask you to fill up your city and the nearest vaccination centre. 

You can register at least four family members from one mobile number. You can also reschedule the appointment if you feel the need to do so. 

Post Vaccination

After getting vaccinated, you must ask for a digital copy or the link to your Vaccination Certificate. If you are not provided with a certificate, you may file a complaint against them at toll-free number 1075.

After getting the first dose, you will be automatically given an appointment for the second dose which will be conducted after 29 days. You may choose the day as peelr your convenience. It would be great if the vaccination is taken between six to eight weeks.
