The Central Haj Committee has issued a guideline for Haj-2023 for the applicants waiting for the holy journey of Hajj. Direct flight will be available from Jaipur airport to Mecca Madina. This time the Haj pilgrimage is likely to be cheaper by about Rs 50,000.

About 15 thousand applications are filled every year from the state and 6 to 7 thousand pilgrims get the opportunity to go on Hajj. Form filling will start from next week. After the application process, the names of the pilgrims will be decided through a draw of lots.

The good news for the pilgrims of the state, passengers will get a flight from Jaipur instead of Delhi. Direct flight will be available from Jaipur airport to Mecca Madina. Before 2020, there was a direct flight from Jaipur, but after the Covid, in 2022, the pilgrims of the state got a flight from Delhi.

According to the State Haj Committee member, the application process for Haj Yatra starts in December-January, but this time the process got delayed due to delay in issuing the guidelines. Online applications will start from next week. It is not yet decided whether the application fee will be charged or not.

Key guidelines issued for hajj

This time the Haj pilgrimage is likely to be cheaper by about Rs 50,000.

For a child below two years of age, 10% of the total airfare will have to be paid. Children above this age will be charged full fare.

One cover number can accommodate 4 adults and 2 children.

Applicants who are above 70 years of age will get priority in allotment of seats of the concerned state.

Single women above the age of 45 can travel in groups of 6.
Haj will be completed in 30 to 40 days.

The Saudi government has reduced the quota of private tour operators from 30 percent to 20 percent and that of the Haj Committee from 70 percent to 80 percent.

Government quota has been closed. The quota allotted to the President, Vice President, Prime Minister, Minister of Minority Affairs Department and Haj Committee of India has been canceled and included in the general pool.

Women or pilgrims above 70 years of age will be eligible to take repeaters along with them by paying an additional fee.
The coupon for the sacrifice during the Haj pilgrimage will be issued by the Haj Committee of India.
