Now the ticket booking process will become easy to visit the historical monuments and museums of Rajasthan. The department of archaeology and museology is soon to launch e-ticketing in all its monuments and museums. The tickets will now be booked online from the department’s website.
There are several monuments which don’t have proper ticket counters or many places lack the signboards for the ticket counters making the ticket booking hard for tourists. The launch of e-tickets will provide ease to the tourists.
Apart from this, a centralised control room will also be developed at Albert Hall to check on the CCTVs installed at monuments and museums. This will be helpful to keep an eye on illegal guides to prevent the harassment of visitors.
According to the director of the department of archaeology and museology, Mahendra Khadgawat, “the initiative will benefit to a great extent as the tourist will no longer have to stand in the queue, struggling for the tickets. Now tourists can book tickets at their comfort. Ticket booking will be available round the clock. Also, advance ticket booking can be done to avoid the hassle of same day booking.”
“The other move by the department of archaeology and museology is to have a centralized monitoring system. Every other day there are reports of tourists being harassed by illegal guides, shopkeepers, photographers, and beggars. The centralized CCTV centre will help us keep a check on such people and make the places visitor friendly. Additionally, the system will also help in improving the facilities for visitors,” added Khadgawat.
Apart from this, reports have been received regarding the CCTVs at many tourist places not functioning well. They are failing to defeat the purpose of providing safety and security to the tourists. The cameras lack high-resolution features and thus if any incident occurs the footage received from them is of no use.
The department has confirmed that the state tech agencies will be handed over the works, e-ticketing and centralised monitoring system.
