Digital Museum at Rajasthan Assembly open to kids from Nov 14

Rajasthan first state to open a digital museum at Rajasthan assembly for schoolchildren from November 14, later it will be open to the public at a nominal fee.

On the occasion of Children’s day, school children will be allowed free entry for a month to the new digital museum on the Rajasthan Assembly premises. The former Chief Justice of India N.V Ramana inaugurated the museum in July this year.

In a press conference held on the occasion of children’s day, Assembly Speaker C P Joshi said that the museum will be open for school children so they can acknowledge the democratic set-up of the country. The purpose of the museum is to display the glorious political history of Rajasthan and also to make people aware of the political proceedings and arrangements.

The museum is constructed on about 21,000 square feet area at a cost of Rs 17 crore. It has been named ‘Political Narrative Museum’. The entry to the museum will be free for school and college students for a month. The museum will be closed for one day a week. While visiting the museum the visitors will get to learn about democracy, parliamentary system and assembly proceedings through advanced technology.

A detailed description of the rights and roles of the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly, the Leader of the House and the Leader of the Opposition has also been displayed in this museum, along with the process of how bills are passed and become law.

The museum also has silicon statues of chief ministers and assembly speakers besides a peek into Rajasthan’s culture and tradition. Rajasthan is the first state to start such a digital museum.
