The government will soon construct a corridor at the Khatushyam temple in Sikar. Through this corridor, VVIPs and ordinary devotees will be able to reach Lakhdatar Ground directly from the parking area before the Torana Gate. The proposal was approved in a meeting of the Public Works Department (PWD) held in Jaipur on Friday.

Separate roads will be made for VVIP and ordinary devotees.

According to the Principal Secretary of PWD, Vaibhav Galaria, “the government had announced the construction of the corridor in its budget. The land of 57.60 meters width will be used for this corridor to be built in a length of about 3.5 kilometers. There will also be a green belt in this corridor.”

“There is a huge crowd of devotees at the Lakkhi fair held in the month of Phalgun. Because of this, people face difficulty in commuting here. Work is being done accordingly,” he added.

Corridor will start before Toran Gate

Lakhdatar Ground can be reached directly from the parking area before the main gate. This corridor will start before Toran Gate on Ringas-Khatu Road (State Highway 113). It will be constructed till Lakhdata ground. Rs 32 crore will be spent on land acquisition. The tourism department had already announced this in the budget. Apart from this, the temple trust committee will give money for the construction expenses.

Shady trees and plants will be planted in the green belt

The width of the green belt will be 27.6 meters. Green shady trees and plants will be planted in it so that the pedestrians passing through here in summer and other times can get the shade of trees. Plus, it would be better for the environment as well. Apart from this, two roads of 7-7 meter width will be made. In one of these there will be movement of VVIPs, while on the other there will be movement of common pedestrian devotees.

About 20,000 devotees visit the temple daily

About 20,000 devotees visit the temple daily. There is more crowd on weekends and holidays. On Devuthani Ekadashi, Khatushyam Baba’s birthday, about 10 lakh people visit this temple. After renovation, some changes have been made at Khatushyam’s Darshan Sthal. Glass has been installed around it so that the inside of the temple can be kept safe.
