With an aim to provide help and relief to Covid patients who are in home quarantine, the health department in Jaipur has come up with a new service. Amid the surging covid cases the health authorities will make sure the victims get medicines supply on time through bike ambulances. To avail the services, one has to dial 108.
Bike ambulance to provide the services
The government of the state has been continuously working on ensuring that patients get easy access to essential healthcare services. This thoughtful drive to care for the COVID patients healing at home will prove to be a beneficial idea during these difficult times of pandemic. The drive will ensure that people affected from the virus are not only safe but also remain at home. This will be a great initiative to support in preventing further spread of the virus.
25 bike ambulances will be employed
This move by the government is gaining praise all around Jaipur. Under this initiative, 25 bike ambulances have been set up to deliver medicines at home to Covid patients in Jaipur. These bike ambulances will be placed at police station-wise. The home isolated patients may avail this unique service by making a call to ‘108’. They will get medicines delivered right at the doorsteps of the patient.
However, this initiative is not the first in the city and has been imposed earlier as well. It was first launched in 2019 in Delhi for emergency medical services and later discontinued in 2020. This was before the start of regular ambulances. After this, in 2021, DRDO and CRPF also began a bike service in Naxal affected areas. This was titled ‘Rakshita’, and served the security forces mainly in the areas where there were narrow roads and ambulances couldn’t reach.
