Of the four private hospitals licensed for the treatment, one is in Ajmer and the other in Kota. While two are in Jaipur. These four hospitals will be providing both outdoor and indoor treatments. The scheme is expected to expand its reach at more hospitals in the near future.

Under this scheme, all government employees and pensioners will be able to buy medicines at 150 official Ayurvedic drug stores across the state. People may avail the benefit for one year with cashless treatment of up to Rs.20,000 outdoors and Rs 5 lakh indoors.

The names of the four authorized hospitals for Ayurveda treatment are Jaipur Ayurveda Hospital (Vatika Road, Jaipur), Jeena Sikho Life Care Ltd. (Gopalpura Bypass, Tonk Road), Shankar Piles Clinic and Research Center (Madanganj-Kishangarh, Ajmer) and Ambience Kerala Ayurvedic and Multi-Specialty General Hospital (Kota).

Ayurveda treatment will cover many ailments under RGHS including Panchakarma, kshar sutra (piles, fistula and fissure), Kati basti (sciatica, back pain, disc location), Janubasti (joint pain), akshi tarpana (eye treatment), Shirodhara (mental diseases, insomnia, migraine, headache, hair fall), Abhyanga, Snehana (oil massage) and Swedana. There has been a noticeable rise in demand for Ayurveda treatment after the Covid-19 pandemic as it doesn’t have side effects. Being it the natural treatment the government has decided to include Ayurveda under RGHS. As of now, all government employees, particularly retirees, would be able to avail of this treatment.
