AAI issues new travel guidelines for domestic and international travelers

News

With the rapid rise in the number of Omicron cases in the state, the airport authorities are worried about the spread of the variant. Rajasthan having the highest number of cases of Omicron issued a fresh set of guidelines for international and domestic travel.

The number of Omicron variant cases has already crossed 20 in the country and is the highest in the state. To curb this, new rules for domestic as well as international travelers have been released.

As per the new guidelines, travellers who have administered the first dose of the COVID vaccine will be allowed to enter the state. They won’t need a negative RT-PCR report nor would they be required for quarantine. Passengers who haven’t had the first dose of the vaccine will be needed to show a negative RT-PCR report of the last 24 hours. If not, they will have to be quarantined as per rules.

For international travelers, if any passenger tests positive their samples would be further sent to ascertain whether they have the new variant or not. It will be mandatory for all passengers to go through thermal screening and oxygen saturation tests.

No Mask-No Movement rule implemented across Rajasthan

Concerned over the Omicron the vigilance has been strengthened across the state. A ‘no mask, no movement’ rule has been enforced in the state. It is mandatory to wear a mask and follow covid appropriate behaviour.

Recently, nine people have tested positive for the new variant. Of them, four belonged to the same family, and have returned from South Africa. They have been admitted to Rajasthan University of Health Sciences (RUHS). While the other five were their acquaintances and have been home quarantined. All nine of them are asymptomatic and are on the path to recovery.
