A woman on her trip to Pushkar was allegedly raped by a tourists guide in Ajmer town on Thursday. She filed a report at Civil Lines police station in Ajmer.

The incident took place on May 7, but the fir was registered on Thursday. The woman told the police that the accused threatened to kill her if she told anyone about the incident, so she kept quiet for almost a month. She finally gathered courage and filed the report. Police are trying to find out the accused.

According to the police, the young woman belonging to Jaipur was on her visit to Pushkar on May 7. She offered prayers in Brahma Temple where she met the accused Jeevan mali alias Jai, a tourist guide. Jeevan took the woman on a tour of various tourist places in Pushkar.

On Wednesday, the day she was to return to Jaipur, he took her to a hotel outside Ajmer bus stand and booked a room there. He allegedly raped her in the hotel room and robbed her of Rs 18,000. He left the victim there and escaped, added police.

“As per the complaint, we have filed an FIR and conducted a medical examination. A police team has also been formed to arrest the accused guide,” said a police officer.
